From Milwaukee: Take Hwy.43 North to Green Bay, take 172 West(toward Airport),to Hwy. 41 North to 29/32. Take 29/32 North to Gillett, Take 32 North to Laona, take a right/East on U.S.8 for 8 miles to HWY 139.Take a left/North on Hwy 139 for 22 miles to Lily Pad Road (FR 2423). Take a left (west) on Lily Pad Road 3.3 miles to Whitetail Crossing Road. Take a left (south) on Whitetail Crossing Road ½ mile to the Tamarack or Cedar Chest Cabin.

From Madison: Take 90/94 North to Portage, Take Hwy. 51 North to Merrill, Take Hwy. 17 North through Rhinelander to Eagle River, Take Hwy. 70 East to FR2424. Take a right on FR2424 to the stop sign. Take a left at the stop sign go ¼ mile to Whitetail Crossing Road. Take a right (south) on Whitetail Crossing Road ½ mile to the Tamarack or Cedar Chest Cabin.

To get to the Hemlock Haven & Pine River Cabin from Milwaukee: follow the above directions to Hwy. 139. Take Hwy. 139 north 15 miles to the Long Lake Road (FR 2168) Turn left on FR 2168 go ½ mile to the Hemlock Haven cabin on the right or continue 1 mile further to Stevens Lake Road (FR.2169). Turn right on FR 2169 go 1 ½ miles to Fire #13861 Stevens Lake Road. Take a left into the driveway to the Pine River Cabin.

From Madison: Follow the Madison directions & take Hwy. 70 East to Hwy. 139. Take a right on Hwy. 139 for 10 miles to the Long Lake Road (FR 2168) Turn right on FR2168 and follow the above directions.
